Prior to becoming home to the Physical and Occupational Therapy department, the existing second story plan was subdivided with walls separating the space into different uses. Once these walls were removed, natural sunlight flooded the new 5300sf open footprint from the existing twelve oversized windows. The space also offers a double height center area with more clerestory windows and accent lighting. While the Physical Therapy portion is mostly an open space to accommodate a variety of equipment; the Occupational Therapy area offers an upscale residential eat-in kitchen, bathroom vanity, bathroom tub, and bedroom area. Laminated wood accent walls with hidden operable doors hide the various electrical panels for this portion of the building. The interior finishes consist of soothing shades of natural tones set within a modern aesthetic. Hardwood handrails, stainless steel, and accent lighting compliment the color palate. All lighting is provided by energy efficient LED fixtures which can be dimmed according to the natural light level.
